Bourbon Chicken Wings

Bourbon Chicken Wings (Recipes for Home & Restaurant) by Nadine Lloyd

Bourbon Wings


Ingredients:
4.4 lbs. (2kg) chicken wings
Salt and pepper to taste

Bourbon Sauce:
1 cup ketchup (tomato sauce)
3 tablespoons compact brown sugar
½ cup Bourbon
1½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1½ teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons rice malt syrup
1½ tablespoons unsalted butter
Salt and pepper to taste


Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F)
Line two baking trays with baking paper and set aside.

Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper.
Evenly place them on the lined baking trays.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.

Bourbon Sauce:
In a small saucepan, over medium heat, stir all the Bourbon sauce ingredients together (for about 3-5 minutes). Do not boil!
Toss the hot chicken wings through the Bourbon sauce to fully coat.

Bourbon Chicken Wings

Return them to the baking tray and bake for a further 5-8 minutes, or until sticky.

Serve hot with a glass of your favorite Bourbon.
