Ingredients: (Makes 1 small jar)
1 large onion – finely shaved
2 garlic cloves – crushed
¾ cup bacon – finely diced
½ cup tomato paste
1½ cups tomato sauce
1 cup treacle
½ cup red wine vinegar
2-3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1-2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1½ teaspoons paprika
1½ teaspoons coriander
Salt and pepper to taste
Fry the onion, garlic and bacon over medium heat until soft.
Add the remaining ingredients.
Lower the heat and stir until slightly thickened.
Taste and adjust the flavour by adding salt and pepper.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool overnight.
Bottle and refrigerate
Add to sliders, burgers or barbecued meats.
